Comparison
StickTale vs InVideo AI: illustrated stickman explainers or stock-footage videos
InVideo AI turns a prompt into a finished video. It pulls clips from a large stock library and generative models, then adds a script, voiceover and subtitles. StickTale takes a question and returns a narrated stickman explainer, drawn scene by scene with one character. They solve different problems, so the right pick depends on what your channel should look like.
The short answer
InVideo AI is the better fit when your videos benefit from real footage or a presenter: travel, product, news-style and list videos, in several languages, with a team editing together. StickTale is the better fit when the topic is a story or an idea that stock libraries can't show directly, and you want a recognizable stickman look in every upload. It researches the topic, writes a retention-planned script, keeps one character across every scene and lets you redraw any single picture. It does not offer stock footage, avatars or languages other than English.

InVideo AI details checked on October 22, 2026 from their public pages (sources below). Prices and features change; check their site before deciding.
Choose InVideo AI if
- Your topic needs real-world footage: places, products, nature, news-style b-roll.
- You want an AI avatar or presenter on screen.
- You need narration in other languages and accents.
- You work as a team. Plans are priced per seat and include multiplayer editing.
- You want a full timeline editor, your own footage and 4K export.
Choose StickTale if
- Your topic happened long ago or is an idea, so no footage of it exists: Roman laundry, a cognitive bias, a what-if.
- You want viewers to recognize your channel by its look: the same stickman in every scene and every upload.
- You want the research done for you, with sources listed, and a script structured for retention and checked for accuracy.
- You want captions placed so they never cover the character, plus hand-lettered labels.
- You want pricing in minutes of finished video, not credits that cost different amounts per model.
Why stock footage reads differently from an illustrated explainer
Stock footage shows something real that already exists. That is a strength for a video about Iceland or a new phone. For an explainer about why ancient Romans washed clothes in urine, nobody filmed that moment, so a stock-based video has to use the closest clip available: a toga, a fountain, a generic market. The words and the picture drift apart.
An illustration is drawn for the line being spoken. When the narrator says workers stomped laundry in vats, the stickman is standing in a vat. That tight match between words and picture is a big part of why the format works on Shorts, which we cover in why stickman explainers go viral.
InVideo also offers generative visuals, which can close part of that gap. The pages we checked don't describe keeping one recurring character across those scenes.
Seats, credits and what a month costs
InVideo prices per seat. On October 22, 2026, Basic was $9 per seat per month, or $4 per seat billed annually under a 50% offer, with 190 credits per seat. Pro was $30 monthly or $15 annually for 1,000 credits, and Ultra $80 or $40 for 3,000. Credits pay for video creation and generative models at different rates, and unused credits don't roll over.
StickTale plans count finished minutes instead. Starter is planned at $19 a month for 15 minutes, and Creator at $49 for 45 minutes with custom recurring characters. There are no seats or team accounts. For a solo creator, minutes are easier to plan around. If three people edit the same videos, InVideo is built for that. You can compare StickTale plans here.
Match the look to the niche
Some niches suit footage: travel, cars, real estate, daily news recaps. Others lean on stick figures because the subjects are abstract or ancient, like history, psychology and money habits.
If you are starting a faceless history channel, one illustrated character gives you a brand that stock clips can't. If your channel already runs on footage, InVideo keeps you in that style without a reset.
Questions
Can InVideo AI make stickman videos?
A dedicated stickman style isn't described on the InVideo pages we checked. Its faceless video generator describes stock media and generative visuals. You could prompt its generative models for stick figures, but a consistent stickman character isn't a listed feature.
Does InVideo AI have a free plan?
Yes. The free plan gives limited credits that reset every Monday at 12 a.m. UTC. InVideo's help center says free-plan videos download with a watermark, which is removed by upgrading to a paid plan.
How much is InVideo AI per month?
On October 22, 2026, the pricing page listed Basic at $9 per seat monthly or $4 billed annually, Pro at $30 or $15, and Ultra at $80 or $40, with 190, 1,000 and 3,000 credits per seat a month.
Is stock footage or illustration better for a faceless YouTube channel?
It depends on the topic. Footage works when the subject can be filmed: places, products, events. Illustration works when it cannot: history, ideas, hypotheticals. Illustration also lets you keep one character across every video, which helps people recognize your channel.
Can I monetize videos made with InVideo AI?
InVideo's help center says videos made with its AI avatars can be monetized on any platform. For other videos, check InVideo's terms and YouTube's own rules. With StickTale, you own your videos and can use them on monetized channels and for client work.
